How to Play

Guess the hidden word in six tries. After each guess, the tiles show how close you are.

Green — the letter W is in the word and in the right spot.

Yellow — the letter I is in the word but in the wrong spot.

Gray — the letter U is not in the word at all.

Solve it (or run out of rows) and press Enter to play again instantly — that's the Unlimited part. Longer words get extra rows: the row count is the word length plus one, with a minimum of six.

Strategy that actually helps

• Open with high-coverage starters. Words like SLATE, CRANE, ADIEU and AUDIO test the most common letters at once — see our data-driven starting words analysis.
• Don't repeat letters early. Your second guess should cover new ground; SLATE then CORNY probes ten distinct letters.
• Trapped on a pattern? Staring at _IGHT with three guesses left, don't brute-force LIGHT/MIGHT/NIGHT one by one — burn a guess on something like MELON to sort the candidates first.
• Level up gradually. When five letters feels easy, move to six or seven — longer words reward structural thinking over letter-by-letter guessing.

What words count as valid guesses?

Each length has its own dictionary of accepted words. Answers are drawn from a smaller pool of common words, so you will never need obscure vocabulary to win.
